Volunteers

We are always in need of volunteers!

Without our volunteers, the SCBC Breed Adoption Program would not exist. Below is a list of ways you can help our rescue.

Transportation
Sometimes we need help transporting dogs from one part of our region to another to be placed in foster care. There are times when foster families need to transport hounds to/from the vet or adoption events. And sometimes SCBC Breed Adoption needs help transporting a hound to his or her forever family.

Special Events
SCBC hopes to host several events each year and needs volunteers to make those events happen. Plans are in the development stage to create a yearly Hound Walk-a-thon. We will need volunteers to serve on the planning committee and to assist in registration, games, an auction, etc. SCBC also has a desire to participate in community parades throughout our region to raise awareness of rescue and its mission.

Short Term Foster Care
When our full-time foster homes go on vacation, we need short-term fosters who can dog-sit for a few days. Your job would be to provide food, shelter and love while the foster parents are away.
